What this site is, and is not

Every story here reports what a study found. None of it is medical advice.

Not medical advice

Long Life Report is research reporting, not medical advice. We describe what a study found, how large it was, and how strong that kind of evidence is. We never tell you what to do about your own health: no dosing, no protocols, no "you should try this." If a story concerns you, or you are thinking about changing anything about your health, talk to a doctor. They know your history and your body. We do not.

How we weigh the evidence

Not all studies carry the same weight, and we say so on every article with an evidence strip naming the study design and the number of people studied. We look for meta-analyses and systematic reviews first, because they combine many studies and are the strongest evidence available. Next come randomised controlled trials, which test cause and effect directly in a defined group. After that, large cohort studies, which follow real populations over time but cannot rule out every confounding factor. A single small study is never enough to headline a story on its own. When the evidence is thinner than we would like, the caveat says so plainly.

What we will never do

We take no affiliate money from supplement companies, ever. If a piece assesses a product, we take no sponsorship from the company that makes it. These are standing commitments, not a policy we revisit when it would be convenient to. Where we get something wrong, we correct it openly: see our corrections policy.
